This page covers the website vakr.app. The Vakr app itself keeps your sessions, code and database on your own Mac and sends nothing to me.
What the site stores
Nothing, until you join the waitlist. The fonts and every other file come from vakr.app itself, so opening a page contacts nobody else. When you join, the site stores:
- Your email address, to tell you when it’s your turn.
- Your country, as reported by the network that delivers the site (Cloudflare). Your IP address is not stored.
- How you arrived: the site that linked you, any campaign tags in the link, the page you joined from, a friend’s link if you used one, and whether you pressed a button about Pro or the founding licence. This tells me which places are worth my time.
- Your answers to the three optional questions, if you give them.
- The date you joined and confirmed.
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You confirm your address by email before you are on the list.
What the site does not do
- No cookies.
- No advertising trackers, no fingerprinting, no selling or sharing of the list.
- If you open a friend’s link, your browser remembers that link’s code until you close the tab, so the friend still gets credit if you read another page before joining. Nothing else is kept in your browser.
Who processes it
- Cloudflare, Inc. hosts the site and the waitlist database, and may count page views without cookies.
- Resend delivers the confirmation and welcome emails.
Both are companies in the United States. They process the data under the data processing terms each publishes, which include the EU’s standard contractual clauses.
How long it is kept
Until you leave the list, or until Vakr is open to everyone and the waitlist is closed, whichever comes first. Unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted after 30 days.
Your choices
Every email has a link to a page with one button that removes you and deletes your details at once. You can also write to hello@vakr.app to see, correct or delete what is stored about you, or to withdraw your consent. You have the right to complain to a data protection authority.
Who is responsible
Vakr is made by one person. Write to hello@vakr.app.
